Invicta vets star at Thanet Marathon

After a short break during August, road racing kicked back into action last weekend. Locally, the Thanet marathon took place, this year's round counting towards the Kent Grand Prix which Invicta are well placed currently. First home for Invicta was Trevor Edgley brilliantly finishing 7th overall in 3:08.56 and thus crowned Kent V-60 Marathon champion. Adam Cowper-Smith showed continued good form and improvement when sneaking into the top 10 in 3:11.30 Sharon Hawkins was Invicta's first female finisher, never really troubled cruising home in 3:20.06.

Televised adidas Women’s 5K Challenge

Held in London, the field included Olympic bronze medallist Meseret Defar and Team GB's Jo Pavey, with Beth Carter (u-17) racing well to finish 14th in 17:13.
