More Pentathlon Success for Holly

Holly Fielder gained a hard fought Bronze Medal in the U15 Girls Pentathlon at the South East Schools’ Multi Events Championships at Lee Valley on Sunday 29th June. Her final score of 2796points (National Grade 1 Standard) was a personal best and led the Kent Team to an overall Bronze medal in the team competition. Her score also moved her to top of the Invicta U15 Girls Pentathlon rankings.

Holly started the day with, by her own admission, an average performance in the 75m hurdles of 13.29secs (543points and a National Grade 4 Standard), putting her in 16th place at the start of the competition. She then moved up to 13th place following a Pentathlon personal best in the shot with 8.39m (425points and a National Grade 4 Standard) and a personal best in the high jump with 1.42m (534points and a National Grade 4 Standard). She then had the second furthest long jump of the day with 4.96m (548points and a National Grade 2 Standard) which moved her up to 9th place. In the final event she then took nearly 2.5 seconds off her 800m personal best time, finishing with 2mins 25.85secs (746points and a National Grade 3 Standard).

Holly’s third place finish gained her automatic entry to the English Schools’ Multi Events Champs which are scheduled to take place in Boston, Lincolnshire, on the 20th and 21st September. Here she is in the middle (between Iona Sheerin (Hants) right and Isabel Deacon (Berks) left).
