Membership cycle

  • Annual membership is 1 April to 31 March  

  • University student membership is September to September


  • New members who join IEK as 1st claim (see notes below) get free club vest and to pay their Competitor Licence fee (EACL) to IEK
  • New members who join IEK as 2nd claim (see notes below) get no vest and also pay the EACL fee to their main club



  

Joining part way in the year   -   between October and February

  • Half price membership fee and club vest is includedbut EACL fee is still  £5.00
  • Full Renewal (ie.Membership + EACL) will be paytable due from 1 April next


  1st Claim membership  

Normal membership if you belong to only one club

  

It means we're your main club and you wear our colours for ALL championships + League Teams


We're responsible for collecting and passing on   your England Athletics Competitor Licence fee.

Specific matters relating to 1st Claim IEK

*   You may enter our annual club championships *   Your performances are listed in our ranking lists *   You may vote on club affairs at AGM meetings

2nd Claim membership

This applies only if you belong to two clubs - you have to declare one of the two as the main club

  

You join us in this category as a convenience because your main club is either far away or doesn't do events you're interested in and we're your secondary club

  

You can't compete for us in championships, so we're not responsible for your England Athletics Competitor Licence.

  

In ALL championships you wear the colours of your main (1st Claim) club

  

You may compete in our League Teams, but only if your main club doesn't also compete there

Specific matters relating to 2nd Claim IEK
You may compete as a guest   in our internal club championships but note, our internal ranking lists are restricted to our 1st claim members.

Student membership

This category is not under UKA rules

  

it's an internal IEK concession for university students

  

Whether you're away at University, or are a visiting student at a Canterbury University or Academy,   a "one-off" payment of  £50 each year means you may train for that year at any official IEK club training session, free each time you show your IEK student membership card.


This membership runs September to September .   

  

If you want us to be your main club, complete 1st Claim form which requires the EACL annual fee (currently  £5) to be added to the annual student fee
