Mark Wilkins Smashes his 10K PB in Fast Road Race

In a busy weekend for Invicta`s road runners, with various local races kick-starting the autumn season of road events, after a quiet summer, Mark Wilkins finished second in style to improve his time to 34:05, just 11 seconds behind the winner. Mark's father John Wilkins also had a very impressive race finishing well up the field in 38:28secs while new member, Senior Woman Claire Brown (44:38secs) easily dipped under her target of 45mins. Two other IEK athletes made low key runs in this race of 307 finishers. Michael Gore (40:18) used it as speed training for the approaching cross-country season while Peter Bowell, still braving injury problems, ran 42:19 to complete the Invicta turn out on the day.
