Invicta road runners put on good show in the marathon

A number of runners from Invicta East Kent AC took part in the 2009 Flora London Marathon in a record field of 36000 entrants on a warm and sunny morning for the Marathon. Mark Wilkins making his marathon debut ended up being the quickest runner from the club, he just missed the elite 2:45min mark, to finish with a time of 2:46.15 a fine effort! 2nd home for Invicta being fellow marathon debutant Damien Vadgama who managed 3:04.09. Tim Sutton once again ran as one of the offical pacemakers for Runnersworld magazine and in running 3:28.45 helped many other runners, achieve there pacing targets. First female home from the club being a senior athlete! Former Invicta GB International Runner Charlotte Dale made her return to running, after a number of years away injured, finished in 3:16.39secs.
