8 IEK do 16 League events - another IEK sprint relay record by u13 girls

In the under-13 section of the Kent League for u-13 & u-15, Annabel Knight was 2nd in both 75m and 150m, and Poppy Collins showed her endurance qualities when winning the B race at 150m after coming 3rd in the short sprint. Anna Weston (ranked in UK top 40 at 1500m) was too strong for the rest in the less frequently raced 1,000m, cruising home 50 metres clear of the field. Rhiannon Wallwork (A) and Lydia Gallyer Barnett (B) each won Long Jump and Shot Put, then each won their 3rd event - Lydia was a comfortable winner of the discus with 15.34m and Rhiannon's winning time of 1min 53.4 secs for 600m takes her to 70th in UK, almost the same as her 100m ranking of 66th in the country. At Ashford a month ago Poppy, Annabel and Rhiannon were 3 of the 4 who had set the u-13 4x100m relay record : this time they combined with Lydia to win at Bromley, shaving another 2/10ths of a second off the record. In the under-15 section, Bobby Clay (A) and Lilly Coward (B) were easy winners at 800m, while Amy Old impressed after a long lay-off with a win in the A string 1500m - Lilly did some useful speed work, comfortably winning the 300m sprint, improving her time by over 2 seconds.
