Young IEK prominent in wide range of indoor sportshall events

The 5th and final Indoor Sportshall event was held at Ashford with IEK finishing 4th on the day and 2nd overall -


host club Ashford again swamped the affair when fielding 12 teams of 4 to emerge best indoor club in the county.

Anna Alvarez missed the Ashford fixture but was nonethless nominated best overall u15 by the judges, while our u-11 section gained the judges' nomination for 2nd team overall - Rachel Butcher, Lauren Fileder and Olivia Clarke earn special mention by Team Manager and coach Tony Piersall for their regular turnout and support of the various teams they were chosen for.


After a morning on the cricket field, Bradley Wakesmith won his first and only outing of the winter, posting over 7 metres in the u-13 Shot Put. In a composite team including 2 girls from Swale AC & Paddock Wood AC, while Lydia Gallyer-Barnett and Lauren Fielder were nominated 1st u-13 team overall after both posted pb in Shot and standing Triple Jump in this last fixture.
