Six IEK members get 9 indoor medals from 12 finals contested

Three u-20s, two u-17s and one u-15 came away with 3 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze medals at Lee Valley. Four members also set IEK age-group indoor club records. Aaron Murray comfortably won u-20 shot putt with 12.82m to improve Mike Stocker's 1994 IEK indoor age-group record, Sam Hudson's gold was 1 second clear of his Ashford rival in 2m14.91 when he posted IEK's first ever 800m time for u-17s, and Scarlett Mann cleared 4.80m for her u-17 Long Jump gold. Scarlett was easily our busiest athlete over the 2-day championship, taking 3 medals from 5 finals of the 6 events she contested - on top of Long Jump gold, Scarlett netted two bronzes (Shot and 60m Hdles) and made 5th in High Jump. Her 27.88 in the heats of 200m broke new ground for the club, and she improved her new record to 27.78 for 6th in the final. Callum Barling Jeffery (u-20) did all the jumps, taking silver in both High & Long, and his new age group record of 10.65m earned him 5th in Triple Jump. Emmeline Rendell (2.60m) and Annabel Carter (2:28.83) both bagged silver with club indoor age group records, Emmeline in Pole Vault, Annabel at 800m, two places ahead of Kent Cross-country champion Amber Reed.
