Kent Schools Cross Country Championships

Congratulations to all Invicta athletes who took part in the Kent Schools Cross County Championships at the weekend. A beautiful, frosty morning at the Duke of York Military School in Dover saw some exciting and strong running from our young runners coached by Peter Mullervy and James Roberts.

Particular mentions go to Oscar Parrick, 3rd Junior Boy, Sam Newson 7th Junior Boy and Ella Fox 8th Senior Woman.

We also won three gold medals, Tom Hutton in the Year 7 boys, Alexandra Millard in the Intermediate Girls and Charlie Brisley (coached by James O'Neil) in the Intermediate Boys. All the athletes mentioned will go on to represent Kent Schools at the Inter Counties event at Brands Hatch on February 4th.

Marcus Etheridge, Jo Griffiths (Intermediate Boys), Thomas Platts (Senior Men) and Isabelle Harding (Junior Girls) ran themselves into the top 20 and also stand a good chance of selection. There may be others to add to this list depending on availability.

The Intermediate Girls were awarded the team silver medal with Louise Flynn, Alice Mount and Alexandra Millard. The Junior Boys took home a bronze team medal represented by Oscar Parrick and Sam Newson.

Other great performances came from Jildou Chappel, Emilia Stokes, Emily Heasman, Jean Foley, Cole Gibbens, Jo Whitby, Matthew Stonier, Joe Fox, Alex Holiday, Oliver Weston, Molly Patterson, Georgie Upton, Sarah Hall and Holly Fielder.

Apologies in advance for missing anyone out .. you're difficult to spot in the school district categories!
