South East Schools’ Combined Events Champs

Isabelle Harding gained her first County Schools’ vest representing the Kent U15 Pentathlon Team in the South East Schools’ Combined Events Champs which took place on the 24th and 25th June at Kingsmeadow Athletics Centre, Kingston.

 

Isabelle, who attends Dover Grammar school for Girls, started with a pb in the 75mH of 12.08secs. She then did another pb in the shot with 7.99m and equalled her pb in the high jump with 1.50m. She then jumped 4.66m in the long jump before finishing in the 800m with a respectable 2 mins 34.85secs. Overall Isabelle improved her Pentathlon pb from 2547 points to 2788 points and finished 5th overall in the competition.

 

With a team score of 8789 points it also meant that the Kent won the U15 Girls’ team competition and had beaten a very strong Herts team by 64 points.

 

U 17 St Edmunds pupil Douglas Noel had a very challenging weekend ..even though off his best for a number of the eight events Douglas confirmed his status as one of the leading multi eventers in the south east and gained a direct entry into the finals, finishing with a creditable silver medal.

 

Both Isabelle and Doug will be going to the English Schools’ Combined Events Champs at the end of the season which take place on the 16th and 17th of September in Boston, Lincolnshire.
