Busy Sunday - Seniors on two roads, young athletes at two tracks  19 April 2009

Two for the Road

While Fayne Brenner was 50th vet-50 female among 42,000 runners in the Vienna Marathon, our Senior road crew were pounding the roads of Eynsford (near Swanley) in the Darent Valley 10k : see full-blown article below.

Tracking two competitions

Our u-20s made a good show at Tonbridge in the first T&F league fixture of IEK-Paddock Wood's combined team (Invicta's Paddock) where team colours,[img:403r] something from each club, are half-red half-white vest with red shorts - Jason Prickett ([img:404l]right) in the 800m.

Meanwhile, 10 of 12 young athletes trod the hallowed Crystal Palace track for the 1st time in our traditional outing at the Hercules Wimbledon Open. Four of our u-13 girls gave a hint of the blossoming talent that lurks in our club juniors, 4 of our u-15 boys contested 1500m, led by Jack Balsdon (pictured left, 3rd overall) and three u-17s doubled up at both 800m and 1500m.

Uniquely, Beth Burnett ran at both tracks - 1,500m at Crystal Palace (morning) and 800m at Tonbridge (afternoon)
