Good day for IEK road racers!

On a fast, mildly undulating course, there were many fine performances from Invicta`s road racers at the recent Givauden 10K which, this year, was Kent 10K Championship and also counts towards the Kent Road Grand Prix. Mark Wilkins continued his recent good form and improvement by once again leading Invicta home with a very impressive 34:54, believed to be a PB by almost 15 secs! Tom Purnell once again posted a new PB with 38:45 when he truly blitzed his 10k target for this season of sub 40mins. [img:315l] Most impressive run of the day came from Vicky Talbot-Rosner who led the Invicta women in 41:48 to smash her PB by over 1 minute. Eye-catching runs came from sarah Bonnage and Sue Cooper. Fresh from her fine Kent XC outing, Sarah Bonnage blitzed her previously known 10k pb by over 2 mins, and Sue Cooper's improvement is evident as she was our 3rd female home. Trevor Edgley also had a storming run, winning the Vet 60 catagory outright and beating many of our younger runners in the process, with a time of 38:31. Five of our evergreen male vets featured with strong efforts by Martyn Rouse, Michael Conway, Eddie Broad, Mike Desborough plus the ever-smiling Dave Morekite. Overall, a good turn out once again for Invicta - would be nice to see some of our even quicker guys and girls out for the final round of the Kent Grandrix, the Deal 5-mile on November 2nd.
