Invicta East Kent AC, probably had one of its most successful weekends on the roads for sometime after a string of fine performances achieved on sunday May 18th by the clubs road runners. At the Sterling Minnis 10k, Phil Anthony swooped to his second victory in as many races with a fine 33min run on what he described as a hilly course. James Cotton and Adam Cowper-Smith also starred as Invicta took the 1st team prize award. (FULL REPORT AND FINISH TIMES TO FOLLOW) Meanwhile.... Larkfield played host to the latest round of the 2008 Kent Grandprix. Invicta East Kent runners, also had strong showings here earning the club 3rd team overall on the day. Leading Invicta runner home was Tim Sutton who finished 15th in 37:38, on a very rutted and twisty course. 2nd Invicta runner home was Michael Gore returning to the roads after 7-months out injured, with 19th and a time of 37:48. Third scorer for the club being Andy Girling making a return to the roads with an impressive 38:38 and 30th overall. Invicta runners also scooped some age category awards.
