Jack Balsdon and Weston sisters post huge 'bests' at Eltham

Two days after posting his best 1500m (sub-4m30) in a fine Kent League race at Eltham on Bank Holiday Monday, Jack Balsdon returned to the same track to scorch round the 800m in 2.06.6, a massive 5 seconds faster than ever before to head our u-15 club list for this season, narrowly ahead of SEAA finalist Jake Rogers. Jack now climbs to 6th best male in the whole club for 2009, behind Jason Prickett (2.01.0) Andy Cope & James Reilly (both 2.04.4) Alex Newson (2.04.6) and Kieran Reilly's 2.04.9. At the same BMC meeting, Rebecca Weston (4.37.3) became the first female this season to dip under 4m40 for 1,500m and heads our female rankings with Beth Carter (4.45.0) and Emily Hosker Thornhill (4.58.76) the only others under the 5 minute benchmark. Ali Noel continues improving in leaps and bounds, posting 2.20.9 (800m) Kieran Reilly is a regular at 4m 20 (1,500m) and Chris Thomas dipped under 10 mins in the 3,000m to go 2nd on our 2009 ranking for u-17s, ahead of Jacob Burton and Sam Hudson. Anna Weston (1st year u-13) is showing signs of a special talent, lopping almost 20secs off her best, with an impressive National Grade 2 in the 1,500m.
