Southern League - WOMEN (1) Bournemouth

IEK Ladies are 4th team of 7

WSL2011-Match1Bournemouth100BevNewing1.JPGLeft is  Bev Newing (u-20) who did 3 sprints as A string beating the Bournemouth lady in both 100 and 200 who later had her revenge over our Beverley in the 400m.

Sharon Hawkins (vet-45) ran B string 400m in a time that Power-of-10 National Rankings labels as her "personal best" then she reverted to more familiar events with 3rd and 4th in A string 1500m and 3,000m

Sue Cooper (vet-50) was a busy lady - after her more familiar 800m and 1500m events, she resorted to lobbing shots and hammers all over the place, with measurements which Power-of-10 National Rankings now labels as her "personal bests".....

Training partners Sue Rogers (vet-45) and Lea Burnett (vet-40) forsook their normal Park Fun runs for a trip WSL2011-Match1BournemouthDiscusSueRogers3.JPGto Bournemouth

Sue did Long Jump and is pictured (left) doing Discus

Meanwhile Lea completed a run-jump-throw programme of 800m, long jump and shot, before joining Bev Newing in the High Jump where each lady cleared 90cm

Charlotte Burnett (u-20) sprinted 100m before throwng everything except the shot - according to Power-of-10, her 19.74m Discus is her best ever.

Beth Burnett (younger sister, also u-20) did 200m in 35.1 - her pb according to P-of-10 - plus 3,000m and Javelin, both with season's best performances.

Although none of our Ladies won an individual event, they all competed honorably and had a thoroughly good day out, with ever-present Gilien Davison starting a busy weekend of officiating - Bournemouth (Women's League, Saturday) Eltham (u-20 League, Sunday) and Whitstable 10K Road Race on Bank Holiday Monday
