National u-20 League - Match 2 Tonbridge   -   Sunday 29 May 2011

8 IEK contest 18 league events in joint team with Paddock Wood's under-20s

Annabel Carter (u17) stole the headlines as our only event winner in the u20 National League where we compete in a joint team with Paddock Wood AC.

Annabel won the A string 400m by a 10m margin in 62.89 - later she posted 27.89 for 3rd in B string 200m.

The A string 200m was contested by Laura Clark (u17) who was 2nd in a pb 26.32, placing her 7th on the IEK all-time u-17 list, just ahead of Megan Eeles's 26.80.

Sprint ace Chris Chancellor (u20) was 2nd in 200m (22.55 to a Bexley rival) and again in 400m - where the first 4 all dipped under 52 seconds - he recorded 50.02 to finish 2nd to an u17 rival from Tonbridge AC

No fewer than four (4) pbs were posted by budding decathlete Ben Burton who was 3rd in his only track event then was 2nd, 3rd, 4th in his 3 field events.

First Ben clocked 62.50 for 400m hurdles to go 5th on

IEK's u-20 list where English Schools steeplechasers Harvey Cossell and Andy Thomas are 1st and 3rd.

Then Ben cleared 6.00m exactly to go 6th on the u-20 list of IEK long jumpers - next he lobbed the shot 8.66m and his last pb of the day in the Discus 23.14m

Meanwhile Jacob Burton (Ben's twin) was 6th A string 100m then was 4th in Discus A (27.30m) as well as Javelin A (31.57m) both personal best performances and both place him 6th on IEK u-20 all-time rankings

Jake Rogers (u17) completed the male line-up at this match when he took time out from exam revision to lob a shot 6.32m then cruise round 2000m steeplechase in 7mins 08.6

Our lone IEK female at Tonbridge, Charlotte Burnett (u20) was 6th A Javelin, 2nd in B Discus and recorded a season best of 17.38m in Hammer
