3,000m Kent championship - Males

Jake Rogers (45) shook off his S Factor Academy rival with a telling final 500m to take the u-17 Men's Kent title in 9mins 32.80 secs

This is Jake's 2nd Kent title, his first, as an u-15 was for 800m at Ashford 3 seasons ago

3,000m Kent championship - Females

Emily Hosker Thornhill (48) boldly took the race from the gun to a decisive u-20 win - she had a race-long dual with Folkestone's Senior Woman Rona Loubser (91) current leader of the Women's Kent Summer Road Relay Rankings 2011

Emily's first Kent title - her 10mins 25.50secs slices a huge 44 seconds off her best (set 2 seasons ago in our u17 Club Championship) and it puts her 30th in this year's u-20 UK rankings.

The Kent 10,000m doubled as IEK Club Championship and was bedevilled by a steady drizzle which fell after only 2,000m had been completed - Race Officials did well to keep track of all 25 athletes despite half the runners' number dissolving in the wet conditions.
