Final Kent League - Invicta most improved club

At the last Kent League cross-country of the season, at Parkwood School in Swanley, Invicta were awarded the Neil Smith Trophy for Most Improved Club (Male & Female: U/20; U/17; U/15 & U/13).

This is a tribute to all the junior athletes who have represented the club during the season - well done!

Individual medal winners at the end of the season are:
- Women's under 17 team, 1st
- Amy Old, 2nd under 17 woman
- Emily McKane, 2nd senior woman
- William Stockwell, 3rd under 20 man
and an honourable mention for Tim Corby, 5th in the senior men.

Congratulations to all!

In the races on the day (senior women and senior men) the going was very soft indeed, although it didn't actually rain. Emily McKane was the only Invicta competitor in the senior women's race, coming a very creditable 6th. Invicta came 11th overall in the team competition with 33 points from 3 matches; if a team had finished the last race, Invicta might well have overhauled Tonbridge's 38 points from 4 matches for 3rd place. In the men's race, Tim Corby ran an excellent 6th, his best position ever, ably supported by Adam McKenna in his first senior cross-country in 57th, Rob Whittaker in 63rd, and Tim Kerr in 124th. In the team competition Invicta came 10th out of 19 - one behind varsity rivals the University of Kent.
