Tony Piersall took 7 athletes to the seaside on Sunday, well the sports hall at Folkestone to be precise…and many great performances were recorded.
Now for those of you that haven’t been to one of these, each athlete competes in five events …Vertical Jump, Standing long jump, Shot put, Speed bounce and
a four lap race.

U13 girl Layla Holness laid a marker down and did exactly what her coach thought she was capable of: she WON, coming second in the SP, VLJ and VJ en route scoring a fab 711 points; a fantastic result first time out.

Not far behind Djamilla Nkereuwem pushed hard, her highlights being 3rd in the SP and 2nd in the four laps, her reward an overall 4th place and 686 points total..

Emma Waite and Millie Homewood put in determined efforts and must be pretty pleased with their overall results of 20th (577 points) and 24th (526 points). respectively  well done girls. Overall 3rd team !!

Our u13 boy Inigo Warren, not to be outdone, came second in the VJ and third in the SLJ giving him an overall 4th place overall and 660 points which bodes well for
this talented young man.

The U15 girls were represented by Caitlin Mellor and Lauren Williams and boy did they make us proud, Caitlin having an outstanding day with a 1st in the SB
a 3rd in the 4 lap and SP giving her an overall 3rd place and 678 points!! Lauren Williams also had a good day, her 3rd place in the SLJ a particular stand out moment and an overall 5th place and 625 points.

In conclusion ...we are often thought of as a club biased towards track performance’s  but in these young athletes we have proved we have strength in many areas. Many congratulations to them all and thanks to their coach Tony Piersall for getting them there !!
