Invicta multieventer heads to English Schools

Douglas Noel Invicta East Kents multi athlete competed in his first ever Octathlon after being invited to represent Kent against Berks,Hants,Herts Middx ,Surrey and London at the South East Regional Championships at Lea Valley last weekend.
Joining Douglas from Tonbridge AC were Toby Seal and David Fullbrook….Each young man did eight events .Long Jump,High Jump,Javelin,Discuss,Shot Putt,100m Hurdles,400m and finally a 1500m over the two day event.
Douglas in only his first full year of Muliti eventing took PB’s in the long jump 5.86m Shot 10.20m 400m 55.91 and 4.56 in the 1500m  and finishing 6th overall out of 21 athletes …which is impressive given that he is a first year u17 ,
His beaming coach Jacob Burton himself a multi eventer suggested this is great start with some outstanding performances, and added now that Douglas  is heading to the nationals in mid September with Kents winning team we can surely expect  him to set a  new club record.
