Early Season Success for Invicta Athletes

Invicta East Kent AC had three athletes who attended the 36th Anniversary Hercules Wimbledon AC Young Athletes Open Meeting at the David Weir Leisure Centre on Sunday 9 April. Between them, the Club athletes managed 4nr medals and 5nr personal bests.

 

In the U11 Boys, Oliver Harding, ran a very strong and tactical race to claim first place in the 1000m. His winning time of 3 minutes 9.04 seconds took over 4 seconds off the 2006 Meeting Record and was a massive improvement in his personal best.

 

In the U15 Boys, Oscar Parrick, ran a personal best time of 2 minutes 9.04 seconds in winning the 800m. This is an AAA National Grade 2 Standard.

 

Finally, Isabelle Harding, had a very busy afternoon in the U15 Girls competition. She came third in the shot with a personal best of 6.99m. She finished seventh overall in the 800m with a personal best of 2minutes 30.09 seconds(National Grade 4 Standard). Then, just 40 minutes later, she competed in the long jump where she finished third with yet another personal best of 4.68m (National Grade 4 Standard).

 

Next stop for many of the Invicta Athletes will be the Tonbridge AC Open on the Easter Monday.
