KENT ROAD RACE UPDATE AFTER BLUEWATER 10K

With the 2010 Kent road race season well under way, IEK have been struggling to get numbers to various races this season. However despite the low turn out, both men and women are holding respectable positions in their leagues. IEK men are 14th of 29 teams, a long way behind last year, but still time for improvement. Leading the mens competition is once again Tunbridge Wells Harriers. The women are doing much better than the men this season! IEK women are 6th of 30 teams, led by Maidstone Harriers. Senior Men: Mark Wilkins is currently 3rd overall, he has raced less than the two runners ahead and when dropped scores count is actually leading the championship, he needs to complete more races though to count towards the season total. M40s: Tim Sutton (39th) is our best runner with Peter Bowell 65th. M60s: Martyn Rouse is currently 9th. Senior Women: Liz Weeks is our best female in 10th overall but with dropped scores would be higher up the league, next is Claire Brown who is 25th. Good to see a few more senior women racing this season! W45s: Sue Cooper (8th) is first IEK athlete, Vicky Talbot-Rosner close behind in 10th. As always, it would be good to see more runners taking part in these races! [doc:658] Michael Gore (Website admin)
