Minnis Bay Road Relay - M50 & W45 lead series, Sen Men 3rd

Our vet-50 Male and vet45 Female relay teams both go top of the summer series, both ahead of Canterbury Harriers, after each was first in Round 2 at Minnis Bay. Among the Vets, John Wilkins (14:47) and 2nd leg runner Roger Newson (14:33) were the two fastest Vet-50s of the day and Trevor Edgley (15:36) our third leg runner, 9th fastest individual, coming home almost 2 mins ahead of Thanet RR. Vicky Talbot-Rosner (15:48) Sue Cooper (16:37) and Sharon Hawkins (15:22) were the 3 fastest vet-45 females of the day as they too scooped 1st place at Minnis Bay - their collective time would have put them 2nd against either the young vet-35s or against the even younger Seniors. Our Senior Men fielded 2 complete 4-man teams, with Barry Hopkins and Tim Kerr, in fairly similar times, running legs 1 and 2 of an incomplete 3rd team. Our Men's A team was 4th at Minnis Bay to go 3rd overall, level on points with Ashford AC and are now just behind Thanet & Folkestone : Alex Newson (12:55) put in IEK's leading run of the day as 8th fastest male overall, with solid performances by Adrian Dawson (14:21) Sam Hudson (13:41) and Tom Purnell (13:26). Our non-scoring 'B' team was 6th with Jamie Bailey (12:58) and Luke Dawson (13:01) 10th & 12th fastest males on the day, Tim Sutton (15:35) and Andy Cope (14:48) completing the line-up. The next round is on 8 June at Ashford - contact Tom Purnell if you want to run Full results:- [doc:651] Michael Gore (Website admin)
