Tim Corby & Liz Weeks lead charge at our own 10 Mile Road race

In their debut 10 mile race in IEK colours, Tim Corby (64mins 33secs) was our first man home 34th and Liz Weeks our first female - our men's team of Tim, Martyn Rouse (67:14) Tim Kerr (79:54) and Tony Piersall (85:32) were 14th of 19 clubs where local rivals Canterbury Harriers were 3rd, while our female team of Liz, Sarah Newman (79:26) and newcomer Fiona Feltham (79:27) were 5th of 14 clubs while Canterbury Harriers were clear winners, ahead of Beckenham. Our traditional host event on the last Sunday of January attracted 860 entries before the day and, on the day, exceeded the 1,000 entry limit meaning almost 50 late entrants had to be turned away in the last hour before the start. The race was timed by our own IEK Chip Timing system and continuous results were posted 'live' as each batch of 50 runners crossed the line.
