2011 Road - Ashford District 10k

A total of ten (10) IEK - three Females and 7 Males - scorched round the Sandyacre piste on Sunday 6 February, ALL veterans except Seniors Chris Holmes (6th) and Liz Weeks 3rd Female of the day.

Chris was timed at 34mins:45 secs, about 3 mins behind Michael Coleman who makes it 4 wins out of 4 consecutive races timed by our own IEK Chip Timing.

Liz was timed at 38:46, almost 1 minute behind Female winner Helena Penfold who foresook her

Two IEK Male vets and one Female were age-group winners on the day - Vicky Talbot Rosner was a narrow vet-50 winner, 7 seconds in front of Barbara Wenman (no club declared) Janice Moorekite 14th of 24 vet-50s

The winning margin of our Men's vets was more clear-cut - Martyn Rouse took the vet-60 prize - Michael Conway the vet-65 prize - Dave Moorekite 3rd vet-70.

Steve Burt (5th vet-40) is gradually catching Liz Weeks, our leading female distance road runner and Tim Sutton (11th vet-40) is still half a minute faster than Martyn Rouse

In a field of 759 finishers, Michael Gallyer Barnett, a relative newcomer to the road-running thing was 234th overall and  44th vet-40
