Beth Carter leads Seniors to victory - Bobby Clay undefeated

After missing the whole summer through injury,[img:545l] Beth Carter stormed back to form with a narrow victory over Tonbridge's best Senior Woman Deirdre McDermott at Swanley. Claire Brown (8) and Stacy McKelvie (13) recorded their highest ever in the league while Calli Smith (20th) and Sarah Newman (nee Bonnage) were only 1 second apart with evergreen Sue Cooper (35) making our women convincing winners on the day. They move up to 3rd with one fixture to go, just one point adrift of Folkestone(30) with leaders Tonbridge on 34. The only undefeated female in the entire league in all 3 fixtures is Bobby Clay (u-13) pictured right winning with[img:546r] 20 seconds to spare, leading the Red Sparrows to their 3rd win in a row. Anna Weston (3) Lilly Coward (5) and Ellen Whitehead (6) all made firm claim to places in the Kent team of 8, with Amy Old (14) and Molly Dawson (15) helping keep this team undefeated with one match to go. Alex Clay (u-15) and Beth Burnett (u-17) were our only other females on the day, Alex slipping to 4th after her previous 2nd, while Beth was 10th, her best ever at this level. Our u-20 Men won for 3rd time in a row to retain their firm grip at the top of their league with Jason Prickett (recovered from the bug which affected his previous[img:548r] outing) winning with 28 seconds in hand. St Mary's student Donald Carter (4) and Andy Cope (5) were only[img:547l] 5 seconds apart, James Reilly and Jamie Bailey were 7th and 8th respectively. In u-15 Boys, Luke Dawson is pictured left finishing 2nd in his best race ever in this league, Jack Smith was 21st. Kieran Reilly (7) yet again lead the u-17 Men, ahead of scorers Chris Thomas (11) and Ben Burton 19th. Sam Hudson (fresh from his District Schools win in mid-week) was 21st with Jacob Burton (26) and Joe Marchant (31) helping keep this team 3rd in the league. Results - click underlined text...
