Invicta finish XC season on a high at Swanley

The final round of the Kent Cross country league was held at Parkwood School, Swanley on a testing undulating route through the school grounds which had a little of everything, mud, hills and fast flat sections. Both the Men and Ladies teams were well represented which means that Invicta fielded a complete menís and womenís team for the whole season. Mark Wilkins led the team home in 16th with Martin Kelk and Tom Purnell 29th and 38th respectively, their highest finishes this season. 4th Scorer was John Wilkins (44th) and, in the depths of marathon training, Adam Cowper-Smith (48th) was 5th man home while Tom Sutton's 56th was his highest finish of the season. Just warming up for his Half Marathon the day after, Tim Kerr (87th) closed the team which was 4th team on the day and 4th for the season, the first east Kent club in the competition. A fantastic result!!! I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who turned out for the team this season, especially those who went to every league match. Men's overall Final League Placings: 8th Mark Wilkins 17th Adam Cowper-Smith (M45) 19th John Wilkins (M55) 20th Tom Purnell 23rd Tom Sutton Menís First 4 to Score 4th Invicta East Kent AC.
