[img:619l]Kieran Reilly celebrated his first track call up to the English Schools in Birmingham (where he will contest 3,000m) with a sizzling 1,500m at the Watford Open in 3mins 59.34 secs to shatter Andy Beckwith's 1995 record of 4mins 00.7. In addition to being this season's Kent 800m champion and Kent Schools 1500m champion, Kieran now holds both IEK u-17 middle-distance records at the traditional distances of 800m and 1,500, as well as the less frequenly raced 600m and 1,000m. Pictured LEFT at last season's Kent 4x400 Relays, Kieran is not only the first u-17 IEK member to break the 4-minute barrier for 1,500m, he's also the first IEK male of any age to run this fast since the halcyon days in 1995 when Senior Men Harvey Cossell (3:53.7) and Will Grant (3:58.7) were joined by Tim Davis, an u-20 on the day he recorded his best ever of 3:57.4 Kieran's progress in 12 months is noteworthy : his 400m time this season (53.5) is identical to his best in 2009, his 800m time this season (u17 club record of 1:58.79) is 3 seconds faster than his best last year - his new pb for 1500m is a breathtaking 17 seconds faster than his Grade 2 last year, with his 3,000m time an astounding 52 seconds faster than last year
