As a results of their cross-country performances this season - chiefly their podium places at both the English National XC at Parliament Hill and the Southerns at Brighton two weeks ago - Alex Clay (u-17) and younger sister Bobby (u-15) have both been selected for the coming ISF World Secondary School Cross Country Championships in Malta, March 2012.

Alex gains her first full English Schools International vest with her two most recent races when she was ahead of UK no.1 Jessica Judd of Essex Schools and Chelmsford AC.

Bobby is also selected as a non-travelling reserve, despite being among the youngest being considered for selection to the team of 6 English students who must all have been born in 1995, 1996 or 1997 - Bobby was born in May 1997 .

While the list of England selection is currently unavailable online, Canterbury Athletics, a New Zealand club, has a list of their 3 members (1 boy + 2 girls) who are selected to represent New Zealand Schools at these championships - see New Zealand Schools (Canterbury Athletics)

Previous IEK members selected for this event are Henny Freeman (1998) winner of u-17 English National XC at Stowe, Buckinghamshire (1999) and Beth Carter in 2008 when New Zealand were winning team - see IEK website report in Scrapbook 2008
