A Summer of Success At Invicta East Kent

There have been some absolutely incredible performances across all our age groups during the 2026 Summer Season.

Some of the highlights include:

18th July -  England Debut for Gavin

Representing England in the M55 category at the Age Group Masters International 5K in Shrewsbury, Gavin competed against athletes from Wales, Northern Ireland and the UK Armed Forces.

The conditions were incredibly challenging, with brutally hot temperatures and very little shade on the 1km looped tarmac course. Gavin ran a smart and disciplined race, making the most of every water station, pacing himself sensibly, and crossing the finish line in great spirits.

To earn the honour of representing your country is a fantastic achievement and a testament to Gavin's dedication, hard work and commitment to the sport.

19th July - Sandwich 10k

A huge well done to everyone from who took on the Sandwich 10K

9th August - Mount Ephraim 10K – A Hot and Hilly Challenge!

A big well done to Tobias, Richard and Pete who took on the Mount Ephraim 10K!

Organised by Nice Work, this was a fantastic event set on open roads, offering runners a scenic and challenging route through the beautiful surrounding countryside.

The Mount Ephraim 10K certainly wasn’t one for an easy Sunday morning! With a good amount of elevation packed into the course, there were plenty of climbs to test the legs and some rewarding descents along the way. Add in the hot temperatures, and it made for a particularly demanding challenge for everyone taking part.

It was lovely to see our club members out enjoying another well-organised event, supporting each other and putting their training to the test on a challenging course.

Well done to all three — another great effort and another event ticked off!

10-16th August - European Championship Debut for Charlotte Henrich!

At just 19 years old, Charlotte has enjoyed an unforgettable championship, claiming her first senior international medal with a silver medal in the 4x400m Mixed Relay for Great Britain.

Charlotte then demonstrated remarkable resilience and professionalism when she was unexpectedly called into the Women's 400m Final as first reserve. Having been told only minutes before the race that she would be competing, she seized the opportunity with both hands, producing a superb performance to finish 6th in Europe against some of the continent's very best athletes.

Charlotte continues to be an outstanding ambassador for our club, and we are equally proud of the dedication shown by her coach, Nigel Stickings, who has played an important role in her development and success.

22nd August - What a Story!

U16 Athlete Story Bundy stormed through to take 3rd place at the England Athletics Combined Events Championships at Bedford.

Competing in the Octathlon he set a new club record with 4538 points. Described as a breath of fresh air with his dance moves and upbeat attitude, Story managed to finish the competition with a well deserved bronze medal.

It was far from plain sailing for Story but his hard work and effort paid off. Congratulations!

23rd August - England Selection Success for Rebecca

A huge congratulations to Rebecca Weston, who was selected to represent England at the Antrim Half Marathon on Sunday 23rd August.

Rebecca produced a fantastic performance, finishing 10th female overall and an impressive 2nd England athlete!

30th August - Sydney Marathon Success for Mike

A huge congratulations to Mike Mawby, who has taken on the incredible Sydney Marathon and crossed the finish line in an impressive 2:48:35

What an achievement and a fantastic performance on the other side of the world. To run a marathon in 2 hours 48 minutes is something to be incredibly proud of, and Mike should rightly celebrate all the hard work, dedication and training that has gone into achieving this result. Well done, Mike — an absolutely fantastic achievement!
