The Kings Mile 2026

It was great to see such a strong turnout from Invicta East Kent AC at the second running of The King's Mile in Canterbury, with our juniors, youth and senior athletes all proudly wearing the red vest.
 
The event once again provided a fantastic opportunity to race through the historic streets of Canterbury before finishing in the spectacular surroundings of Canterbury Cathedral. There were some excellent performances across all age groups, with our athletes producing a number of impressive times and strong finishing positions. It was particularly pleasing to see so many of our younger runners competing with confidence alongside our experienced senior athletes.

The race was won for a second year in a row by Invicta's Jamie Keir in a great time of 4:23, bettering his own winning time from last year of 4:27. Hayden Kelk was not too far behind and came in 3rd in another great time of 4:40.

The junior boys & girls also gave great performances finishing in some very impressive times and proving just how strong our up and coming young members are.

The event was blessed with fantastic support from spectators lining the route, creating a brilliant atmosphere that spurred every runner on from start to finish.

Congratulations to all of our runners—you did the club proud, and we look forward to seeing even more red vests on the start line next year!
